Description

RG6 Dual Shield Plenum CMP Coax Cable, 18 AWG BC, AL Foil + 90% AL Wire Braid for Digital HDTV and CATV

Our RG6 Coaxial Cable is widely employed for the installation of satellite, digital CATV and HDTV television networks, due to it requiring a higher level of shielding for optimal signal retention. What sets the RG6 apart from the RG59 is its denser jacket and thicker conductor facilitating data transfer at twice the speed. We supply RG6 dual shield and quad shield cable to maximize signal retention for even sharper, clearer digital pictures. The RG6 Coaxial Cable is designed with a 75-ohm impedance and undergoes sweep testing at 3GHz.

This cable is compatible with our CN2-7885-RG6P F-Type RG6 Connector

Applications

Coaxial Cable is used to transmit radio frequency energy. The advantage of coaxial is that the electromagnetic field carrying the signal occurs only in the space between the inner and outer conductors. With that said, it allows the cable to be installed next to metal objects without power loss. Coaxial Cable also provides protection of the signal from external electromagnetic interference. Coaxial Cables connects radio transmitters and receivers to their antennas, computer network (Internet) connections, digital audio (S/PDIF), and distributing cable television signals.

Product Quality

Our high quality RG6 Dual Shield Plenum Coaxial Cable consists of an 18 AWG solid Bare Copper (BC) inner conductor that transmits the signal. It is wrapped in a dielectric polyethylene insulation. This RG6 dual shielded plenum coaxial cable comes with 100% aluminum foil bonded and 90% aluminum wire braided shield. This is covered with a flame rated PVC jacket (CMP). Our cables are UL listed and RoHS Compliant.

Where to use Coaxial Cable

A broad range of applications exist for coaxial cabling. It is widely used with entertainment equipment such as Cable Television (CATV), Digital HDTV, Audio / Video, and Digital Satellite receivers in commercial settings such as schools and hospitals. It is also used with security cameras, and GPS Systems. Since this RG6 Plenum Coaxial Cable has a solid copper conductor it is the perfect cable choice for any CCTV transmission or surveillance system and helps eliminate signal loss.

Why Plenum?

A plenum space is the open area above the drop ceiling or below the floor that is used for air circulation in buildings. This could be a problem if there is ever a fire. Using non-plenum cables in a plenum space can spread fire and toxic smoke throughout a building. Plenum cable uses a flame-retardant jacket that is made of special plastics to prevent the release of harmful smoke. Plenum cable is mostly used in commercial applications such as schools and hospital buildings that house a large population of people. It also is required in most multi-floor business buildings with large plenum space areas.
